My name is Tim Schroeder and I am a member of the Royal Pontiac Club of America
as well as GTO AA. The reason for this email is that I have taken on the task
of creating a Registry for 1969 Blue GTO Judge's and am looking for some help
getting the word out about our registry. I created a website
www.69bluejudge.com
that shows alot of information about all the cars we have documented thru the
years and am wondering if you would be willing to include a little bit about our
website in your club website/newsletter to help document these rare cars. Our
registry has so far been featured on Sean Mattingly's Ultimate GTO Picture Site,
www.phscollectorcarworld.blogspot.com, and Old Autos newspaper in
Canada with great sucess at documenting many more 69 Blue Judges. If you
have any questions or would like to talk more about what we are doing please
contact me and we can take it from there. Thank you so much for your time as I
really appreciate it.

A
new program in Michigan, which has suffered staggering job losses related
to the auto industry, seeks to solve this conundrum. The program is training
people to work in the film
industry, which is experiencing a huge
growth spurt in response to the state's incentives to companies making
films in Michigan. An example is
Clint Eastwood's latest, "Gran
Torino," filmed in the state. Last week, the governor's office announced
that its efforts to attract
film production companies to the state would yield nearly 6,000 new jobs.
Bombshell! GM Performance Dead (For Now) By Brian
Lohnes Posted 02/18/09
Automotive News is reporting that General Motors has
killed off the GM Performance Division. This is crushing news to
fans of domestic performance vehicles and the decision appears
to have been made in order to appease the government.
Quoting directly from the AN piece by Jamie LaReau, “All
high-performance projects are on indefinite hold," GM spokesman
Vince Muniga said. "The engineers are moving into different
areas of the organization, and they will work on Cadillacs,
Buicks, Chevrolets and Pontiacs."
Outside of the obvious implications regarding the desirability
of the GM product line, we think that this means no SS Camaro.
This truly is a shocking and frightening development for
everyone involved in the automotive hobby, whether you are a GM
fan or not.
Again, quoting from the story in Automotive News, “Muniga said
there are no plans for high-performance versions of upcoming
cars. The move is in the spirit of GM's viability plan delivered
to the U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday. In the plan, GM said
its future-product focus is on fuel- efficient cars and
crossovers. It also pledged to increase its current offering of
six hybrids to 14 by 2012 and to 26 by 2014. GM also boosted its
request for federal aid by as much as $16.6 billion.”
‘The High Performance Vehicle Operations unit could be
reinstated once GM regains its financial health, GM's Muniga
said.’
We’re out of words.
Run-Until-You-Sell
At Carhopp we offer classified ads for selling your car or parts. We are offering a little different format than most classified ads. We will run your ad until you either sell your vehicle or decide to not sell it. Once you pay for your classified ad it will run until you tell me that you no longer need the ad to run. This is primarily for the individual that is selling their vehicle. If a business or car lot wished to have a display ad please contact us with your needs and we will work out the rates. Unless you wish to have each car listed individually then you are welcome to use this feature. We all know that it can take some time to get the real value for your car and other classified ads whether it is a paper classified ad or on the internet will charge you for your ad for a period of time then expect you to renew or re-post your ad. We will allow you to post up to 6 pictures with your ad. We are set up with no real restriction on the number of works included in your ad. The form has places for up to 6 paragraphs to describe your vehicle. If you are selling parts then by all means include as much or many as you wish to. Each ad for a vehicle is for one (1) vehicle. If you have more than one vehicle for sale it will be a separate ad and charge for more vehicles. If you are a dealer and wish to set up a display ad for multiple ads please email me with your needs and desires and we can work out a charge.
March 1 2009
As a result of these economic times we find the need
to streamline the website. The cost of a site this size is getting
greater while income is getting smaller. As a result of this I will be
combining types into listing by location. (State and Country)
Classified ads will also be condensed in this fashion. As a result of
this the ad price is being reduced to a flat rate of $25.00. It will
still run until sold or you change your mind . Whether it takes 2 weeks
or 2 years there will not be any renewal of any type. Truly Run Til You
Sell ad. Once the ad is placed the rate will not go up. I also realize
in these times it may take longer to get full value for your vehicle.
Please compare these rates to other sites and remember that Carhopp is
focused on the special interest and collector market. With over 22,000
clubs and organizations listed, exposure is towards those who appreciate
the real value of these type of vehicles.
Thank You
Mrcarhopp
This will also be a full listing with pictures . Please be as complete in filling out the form and describing your vehicle. Include any and all contact information and please put in an asking price. An ad with "best offer" only with no asking price get the least amount of attention or response. I also have included a buyers guide for anybody that is looking to buy a car especially long distance. There are a lot of scams on the internet dealing in classic cars and it is our intention to make everybody aware of what to be careful of. I personally gave two classic cars I am trying to sell and you would not believe the number of scams that have come my way. Both buyers and sellers look at the
Buyers Guide to get an idea of some of the things to look for. And if you have been approached in a way not here them feel free to email us with your experience and I will add it carhopp.admin@carhopp.net
Once you have decided to sell your car then go to the classified ad form and fill it out. We are set up to accept payment thru Pay Pal or you can use MasterCard and Visa. If you do not feel comfortable using the secure site or paying online then feel free to either print the form, Include up to 6 pictures Send us all the information about your vehicle and either email this to us, carhopp.admin@carhopp.net and send payment thru the mail service. Once the check clears I will post the ad. If you send me a money order I will immediately post your ad. And send back your receipt either email or postal mail. (your choice). We realize a lot of people are cautious about paying for services or goods thru the internet and we welcome more conventional payment plans. Please be very sure to include all information especially the classifications and if you desire more that two complete listings add $10.00 for all additional classifications over the two included with the $50.00 Fee.
To get your vehicle classified ad listed on Carhopp just fill out the form and
submit it. I except payment using Paypal. If there is a reason you do not
want to use this form of payment then I will accept payment by check using US
Postal service. Upon receipt of the payment I will post your ad. Anybody using
Paypal will have their ad posted within 24 hours of payment verification.
Members of a listed car club can get the discounted rate of $25.00. Just include
the name of the club in the ad.
